Dave Koch, who has been selected since 2012, has been recognized in the areas of Franchise & Dealership and Business & Corporate, and Marisa Faunce, who has been selected since 2020, is recognized for Franchise & Dealership and Intellectual Property.
Each year, no more than five percent of lawyers in the state are selected for Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters rating service recognizing outstanding attorneys across more than 70 practice areas.
The selection process is based on peer recognition and professional achievement and includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer review by practice area.
Dave Koch is a co-founder of Plave Koch, whose practice focuses on franchising, licensing, and supply chain matters. He advises clients across a wide range of industries on transactions, compliance, and growth strategies, including international expansion. He also serves as an adjunct clinical assistant professor at the University of Michigan Law School and NYU Law School, where he works with students through the schools’ International Transactions Clinics.
Marisa Faunce advises franchisors, licensors, and manufacturers on franchise development, compliance, and intellectual property matters. She works with clients ranging from startups to category leaders on franchise structuring, agreements, corporate transactions, disputes, and franchise relationship issues. She also counsels trademark owners on brand protection, manages domestic and international trademark portfolios, and regularly trains franchisor executives on sales and compliance matters.
